Every day, 500 children are born with HIV and there are already 2 million in the world. Most live in resource-limited countries where diagnosis and infection monitoring are a luxury. For the past 15 years, the EpiMolVIH research laboratory at the IRYCIS-Ramon y Cajal Hospital in Madrid has been working to improve HIV detection and facilitate access to diagnosis in vulnerable populations. Dani (10) is a good, sweet, laughing boy who has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). The average age of onset is 56 years old, being very rare in children's age. The Cancer Research Center (CIC) http://www.cicancer.org/es is investigating this type of leukemia and we want to get funding so that they can continue their research. So far they have shown that genetic editing to treat CML is working in mice. And we will continue to support them.
