News reports described a scenario that’s hard to imagine: about 70 dogs kept by a hoarder, allegedly also used to donate blood to a blood bank.
We were able to rescue seven of them.
They arrived thin, starving—some reduced to skin and bones. And despite everything they’d suffered… they welcomed us with gentleness, trust, and affection.
It’s impossible not to wonder: how can beings so mistreated continue to love humans so unconditionally?
They say not all of them were rescued from that hell. If that’s true, there are still lives waiting for a chance to be saved.
May justice do its job. And may those who caused them so much suffering be held accountable for their actions.
In the meantime, we will continue to fight for them. Because they never gave up on believing in people.

Julieta and Dartagnan were rescued by CROAC in Sesimbra and are now in the care of the Bianca Association.
Unfortunately, we believe there may be more puppies—and possibly even their mother—still there. We’re all committed to finding and rescuing them, if they’re still there. Your help is truly vital!
Right now, the most urgent need is to socialize Julieta and Dartagnan. They’ve never had contact with people before and need to build trust. If you can, please come to the shelter.
Our volunteers will guide you, and you’ll be able to hold them in your arms, just as shown in the video—always in a safe, controlled area within the shelter.
The more people who get to know and pet them, the better. It’s invaluable help for their future.
And if you’re looking for a new companion, please consider adopting Julieta or Dartagnan.

Our dear Noel is only 6 months old, and suddenly his life has been turned upside down. After several exams and blood tests, he needed an MRI and a cerebellar fluid biopsy, which cost 921 euros. The result was devastating: cerebellar ataxia. But we won’t give up on him. Noel was born on Christmas Day 2025 and is a true fighter. We really need your help to cover this expense. No dia 29 Maio resgatámos 4 gatinhos, com 1 mês, que estavam escondidos no motor de um carro. São uns amores que obrigaram a uma ginástica diferente. Estão todos bem, e já vacinados, desparasitados e chipados. Bem vindos Framboesa, Frajola, Figo e Feijão

On May th29 we rescued 4 kittens, 1 month old, who were hiding in a car engine. They are such sweethearts that we had to do a little bit of a chore. They are all doing well, and have already been vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Welcome Framboesa, Frajola, Figo e Feijão

Pimenta e Paprica vieram da Lagoa de Albufeira, Sesimbra, e entraram na sexta feira. Não se sabe há quanto tempo estavam assim. Mas agora precisam da ajuda de todos para serem operadas. O valor para cada cirurgia é de 450€, com esterilização incluída. Não conseguimos perceber se são irmãs ou mãe e filha, nas pouco importa isso agora. Ajudam as meninas?
Também procuram madrinhas/padrinhos para poderem fazer análises à leishmaniose, herliquia, babesia e dirofilaria.

Pimenta and Paprica came from Lagoa de Albufeira, Sesimbra, and arrived on Friday. It's unknown how long they've been like this. But now they need everyone's help to have surgery. The cost for each surgery is €450, sterilization. We can't tell if they are sisters or mother and daughter, but it doesn't matter much. Can you help these dogs please? They are also looking for godmothers/godfathers so they can have tests done for leishmaniasis, ehrlichiosis, babesiosis and dirofilaria. We continue our work with your support

Salvamos centenas de cães e gatos por ano, dando abrigo a cerca de 500 novos animais todos os anos, que recebem cuidado médico veterinários, alimentação e carinho que muitos nunca tiveram antes.
