Care and Support for Rescued Animals

When Joker was hit by a car in war-torn Ukraine, his leg was shattered. The community of elderly women who cared for him were devastated. They didn’t have the means to help, but they refused to give up on him. That’s when they reached out to a ROLDA Hero - one of the independent rescuers we support on the ground.

Thanks to your donations, ROLDA was able to step in immediately. We provided the funds needed to rush Joker to an emergency clinic, where X-rays revealed:

- Multiple fractures in his paw
- A fracture-dislocation in his joint
- A torn ligament

Without surgery, he would have lost his leg or his life. Because of our support network, Joker got the operation in time.

Since then, ROLDA has continued to cover his daily care. Right now, Joker is in temporary foster, receiving:

- Daily wound cleaning and ointment applications
- Pain relief and medication
- Constant monitoring and transport to the clinic for check-ups

Just a few days ago, he took his first careful steps on his injured paw. And at his recent X-ray, the vets confirmed his bone is healing. In 10 days, the structure holding his leg together will be removed, the next big milestone on his road to recovery.

This is what your support makes possible. By funding emergency surgeries, rehabilitation, and everyday supplies, ROLDA can give dogs like Joker a real chance at life.

We still urgently need help to cover the next stage of his care: the procedure to remove the structure, follow-up treatment, medication, and continued support while he heals.
