ESCUELA DE SORDOS EN CAMERÚN

La escuela-internado IMSHA, para niñas y niños sordos, fue creada por la familia Ntep el año 1998. Nuestra ONG Agermanament, da el soporte económico y la formación al profesorado de este centro desde el año 2000. Los 40 alumnos escolarizados, aprenden la Lengua de Signos para comunicarse y poder acceder al currículum oficial del país. Son de familias rurales extremadamente pobres y, durante el curso escolar, 25 alumnos residen en la escuela en régimen de internado.

AGERMANAMENT sense fronteres

Agermanament sense fronteres is an ONGD that has been working in Cameroon since the 1960s in cooperation for socio-economic development, and also helped the IMSHA school for the deaf for more than 10 years, where school-aged boys and girls learn sign language, the country's official education is taught and they learn a trade in the professional schools that this center has. The money we donate will help improve the students' nutrition. For 5 years, the school has been self-managed with the help of the Cameroonian government and with specific support from the US embassy and a multinational company that works in Cameroon. Agermanament continues to support with periodic visits from the sign language teacher, Natalia Lagunas, to check the proper functioning of the project and bring food and toys on her visits.

Hoy hemos enviado a nuestra ONG Agermanament Sin Fronteras la donación de 115 euros para nuestra Escuela IMSHA. Nuestra profesora de lengua de signos que trabaja en Camerún hace años, irá a la escuela con productos alimenticios para complementar la dieta de sus comidas.
Como ya os hemos comentado la escuela es autosostenible hace años gracias a padres y otras entidades internacionales, por lo que su mantenimiento está garantizado.
