Syria is at a crucial turning point in its recent history after the fall of the Al-Assad regime, with many challenges still ahead. 14 years of conflict have left 7 mill. people internally displaced and 16 mill. in need of humanitarian assistance. With increasing movements of Syrian refugee families returning to the country with minimal resources, a critical socio-economic situation and a winter that further complicates the situation, immediate assistance is urgently needed to protect them.
Syria is currently experiencing a crucial turning point in its recent history after the fall of the Al-Assad regime, with many challenges still ahead. Nearly 14 years of conflict have left 7 million people internally displaced and 16 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. In the aftermath of recent events, one million people have been displaced, most of them women and children. In addition, since September, half a million people have crossed from Lebanon to escape Israel's bombardment. With an increasing number of Syrian refugee families returning to the country with minimal resources and winter further complicating the situation, immediate assistance is urgently needed to protect them. It is estimated that more than 8,000 additional emergency kits containing medicines, clean water, food and basic items are needed to be urgently distributed to the displaced. In addition, there is an urgent need for more shelters and repair of damaged houses.

Queremos comunicaros que, con motivo del dia mundial del refugiado, el 20 de junio, hemos lanzado desde el Comité Español de ACNUR un nuevo grupo de teaming, que podéis encontrar aquí: www.teaming.net/acnurespana
El objetivo de este grupo es brindar apoyo ante otras emergencias, tener capacidad logística y de reacción ante crisis humanitarias y continuar ofreciendo soporte a nuestros compañeros en terreno por todo el mundo; donde hay un campo de refugiados, ahí estaremos.
Este nuevo grupo convivirá con el grupo de Emergencia a Siria, que iremos actualizando periódicamente.
Gracias de nuevo a la comunidad de Teamers de este grupo por su apoyo constante a los refugiados y refugiadas de Siria.

Según el último informe de Tendencias Globales de 2022 de ACNUR el 52% de las personas desplazadas a la fuerza en todo el mundo (108 millones) proceden de tres países: Siria, Ucrania y Afganistán.
Gracias a todas las personas que formáis parte del grupo Teaming Emergencia Siria ACNUR Comité español por ayudarnos a transformar la vida de millones de víctimas y más de 5,5 millones de refugiados sirios, que deja más de una década de guerra en el país.
