In Kenya, we enable children from the poorest backgrounds to attend a school (Kilifi Vonwald School), which was built by us, and help families to help themselves and lead a dignified life. Charity visits the baby class of the Hope Integrated School in Kilifi/Kenya, a partner school of the Kilifi Vonwald School. (www.harambee.at) Charity has recently lost her sponsor and is looking for a new sponsor(s). We want to pay the school fees in this group for the time until they have new sponsors. Since there are always children who do not have godparents, we will then introduce a new child for whom we will use the money.

Fumbini Special Unit is a public school in Kenya that is rented by an association that supports disabled children. Very poor families in particular cannot afford wheelchairs, let alone the school fees for these special children. Therefore, the association GABEKA (Harambee in Austria) supports families to enable the children to live a dignified life. Old Ferry -Mikanjuni in the local language, a region at the foot of our school, the SLUM of Kilifi. There are about 800 families living in Old Ferry with a corresponding number of children. There is a school for 70 children, but far too little money. This school has been a partner school of the Kilifi Vonwald School since March 2023. We Harambee/Gapeka support a school for the poor, the Bright Academy. Led by a pastor. The classrooms are only rented. Neither a blackboard, nor books, notebooks; no tables, not to mention the school uniform required in Kenya. The special thing here, the vast majority of all parents are physically or mentally disabled. In a country without social benefits and without these people being able to work, it is impossible to send the children to school. A vicious circle of poverty.
