Girls in Kasenda miss an average of 7 weeks of school each year because they do not have access to menstrual hygiene products, which has a negative impact on their academic performance, as well as undermining their confidence and dignity. The NGO Kelele Africa wants to solve this problem by giving each girl a pack of 5 reusable sanitary pads with a 1 year shelf life. Can you help us? 6 Teamers=1 pack of 5 pads=1 happy girl.
All proceeds go directly to buying packs of reusable sanitary pads for the menstrual hygiene of girls in Kasenda and Kimya. In our third year of campaigning we have already reached 400 girls in the area. Our aim now is to reach 500 girls and to be able to repeat and increase the number of girls who receive a pack of 5 reusable (washable) sanitary towels that can be used for one year. This help will restore confidence and dignity to the girls and reduce absenteeism from school, therefore having a very positive impact on their academic performance.

Este año hemos repartido 500 packs de compresas reutilizables gracias a vuestra ayuda .
450 han llegado a niñas de 5 colegios de la zona, entre ellos Kumwenya .
Y los 50 packs restantes se están entregando a mujeres inscritas en el curso de alfabetización de adultos (FAL).
Esta campaña es mucho más que repartir compresas:
Es empoderamiento femenino,
Es lucha contra el absentismo escolar,
Es dignidad y salud,
Y es una solución sostenible y respetuosa con el planeta
En zonas rurales de Uganda, muchas niñas usan trapos o periódicos durante la menstruación, lo que les provoca infecciones, manchan la ropa y, muchas veces, dejan de ir al cole.
Según UNICEF, 1 de cada 10 niñas en África falta al colegio durante la regla. ¡Y en algunas zonas puede llegar al 20%!
Ayúdanos a que ninguna niña falte a clase por no tener compresas, puedes ayudar donando 1€ al mes!

¡Ojo al dato sobre la higiene menstrual en África! En Uganda, el 90% de las niñas y mujeres no se puede permitir una compresa o un tampón.
Ya somos 27 Teamers ayudando a las niñas de Kasenda para que puedan obtener su pack de compresas reutilizables pero necesitamos a muchos más para llegar a todas las niñas que necesitan esta ayuda para no faltar a clase. Nos echas una mano ? De parte de las niñas y de parte nuestra. GRACIAS!
