In the mountains of northern Morocco, Leeny and her small team tirelessly and lovingly cared for injured, abused, or sick stray dogs. At the Beldi Refuge, approximately 100 dogs find shelter, care, and attention. But our goal goes far beyond that: Through education, neutering, and vaccinations as part of the TNVT program, we aim to end the suffering of stray animals in the long term and fundamentally change attitudes toward dogs in the region. Together, we are many ❤️
In the mountains near Chefchaouen, Leeny and her small team care with passion and dedication for over 100 rescued street dogs (Beldis) living in social groups on rented land. The fences and shelters are now severely damaged and urgently need repair. But the ongoing costs for food and medical care remain. In addition, locals regularly ask for help for their animals in need. Your donations help us maintain this basic care and provide the dogs with a safe home. 🐾

I’d like to introduce myself as the new treasurer of Beldi Rescue and, on behalf of Leeny, send a heartfelt thank you to all of you for your continued support. Your generosity truly helps us keep going.
You may have heard about the severe rainfall and flooding in northern Morocco. While we are fortunate that our refuge is located high in the mountains and is still standing, the long-lasting rain has taken a real toll on our doggies. Prolonged wet conditions affect their health, and right now every single penny counts to provide them with nutritious food and the medication they need to stay healthy and strong.

This is a wonderful refuge that works very hard, every day, in a very rough environment. I visited the beautiful shelter, and I know from my own experience what it means to work with animal rescue in Morocco. It's intense, it's unpredictable, it is draining.... but every action matters and every life is precious.
