Azores Dog Rescue is a registered non-profit organization on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores. I began rescuing dogs in 2016, shortly after moving here from the UK, after witnessing the heartbreaking neglect and abuse of dogs, especially the Portuguese Podengos - the local hunting dogs. Currently we are full to capacity with 54 dogs and pups at the shelter – most of these were abandoned and arrived fearful and traumatised. Please support Azores Dog Rescue with just 1 Euro each month so
The lady who runs Azores Dog Rescue had a medical emergency and was rushed to hospital. Many of the Azores Dog Rescue dogs were boarded at vet clinic kennels. The money raised will be used to pay boarding fees.
