ASTAD is a non-profit organization founded in 1960, based in Opicina, Trieste. Without the help of public funding, but solely thanks to donations from members and benefactors, the Astad Shelter welcomes abandoned dogs and cats, unwanted litters, dogs and cats left alone after the death of their owners, and dogs from other shelters or associations in need. We house approximately 60 dogs and 120 cats, whom we care for daily with all the attention and care they need.
