Hoy me cuesta escribir esto.
Esperanza se ha ido.
Como ya sabéis, en 2021 la encontré entre las basuras, con una herida terrible en la cara. Nadie quiso ayudarla, así que decidí hacerlo yo… sin saber que con ella empezaría todo.
Durante años fue la primera en venir a comer, siempre con su platito, siempre desconfiada… pero siempre ahí.
En 2024 conseguí capturarla. Estaba muy preñada y parió al día siguiente. De sus bebés, hoy viven Luke y Obi. Gracias a ella.
Entonces supe que aquella herida no era una herida. Era un tumor.
Y aun así vivió más de tres años con dignidad, cuidada y sin volver a estar sola.
Hoy la he dejado marchar para que no sufriera.
Porque amar también es eso.
Esperanza no fue una gata cualquiera.
Gracias a ella nació la tropa.
Gracias a ella existe 101 gatos.
Gracias a ella muchos otros han podido ser ayudados.
Su nombre no fue casualidad.
Esperanza cambió mi vida…
y la de muchos gatos.
Vuela alto, pequeña.
