Hier werden Schäferhunde von ganz Europa gerettet. Jörg rettet seit 15 Jahren Schäferhunde. Während dieser Zeit wurden über 400 Schäferhunde in ein glückliches Zuhause vermittelt. Alte und kranke, nicht mehr vermittelbare Schäferhunde dürfen bis zu deren Lebensende bei ihm und seinem Team ihr Leben genießen.

George Orfanidis has been rescuing animals in Crete, Greece for 25 years. He has around 140 plus dogs at his shelter. George often takes disabled animals or those requiring expensive surgery or with an ongoing need for medication for diseases such as leishmaniasis, who might otherwise struggle to find the safety of a shelter and are hard to find homes for. As per Guinnes Book of World Rekords the Smeura is bearing the mournful title of being the biggest animal shelter of the world. Around 5400 dogs and 600 puppies need around 2.7 tonnes food per day. The staff members are doing an inconceivable job - organizationally, physically and emotionally. Driving around with a castration van and pushing the clearing up of the locals. Every euro is needed.
