Children in Guinea Bissau die of pneumonia from pneumonia and bronchitis, the consequences of simple colds. These are caused by getting wet in the rainy season, when working all day in the field. Younger children who go to the field with their breasts can not get rid of those colds that get complicated. They do not have access to health care and what starts with a cold for not having a raincoat ends in chronic bronchitis. The rains last 4 months.

Our objective is to get 500 solar lamps that allow mothers, children and girls in the ten villages of Guinea Bissau in which we work to study at nightfall. Battery-powered lanterns are currently used, but they cause serious pollution problems in villages, farming areas and in water. It is estimated that a common battery contaminates more than 3,000 liters of water. Solar lamps are a sustainable alternative and allow families to have light for 8 hours.

Did you know that 5,000 people get sick with leukaemia each year in Spain, which is the most common childhood cancer, and that despite the progress made, we still lose one in four minors and half of adults? At the Josep Carreras Foundation we have been working for more than 30 years to make leukaemia a 100% curable disease, to find 100% compatible donors for everyone, and to make displaced patients feel at home. With your help, we are unstoppable.
