Somos un grupo de estudiantes interesados en ayudar a las gentes que viven en los slum (barriadas de chabolas pobrísimas) en Nairobi, principalmente en el Eastland. Hemos estado en los dos últimos veranos en los slum Mukuru y Sinai dando clases en colegios, ayudando a centros de discapacitados, construyendo pupitres, pintando un orfanato, etc. Los gastos del material empleado y la ayuda de los expertos locales se acercan a unos 10.000€ anuales, por ello necesitamos colaboración.

Moses knows very well the slums of Eastland Nairobi, he has spent years struggling to school girls and boys, who otherwise would be doomed to a life of misery and a very uncertain future, having qualities to study the secondary school or a trade. With schooling, one meal a day is guaranteed at the same time, but many days would be hunger. GIRAFRA Girona for Africa Foundation) has joined this beautiful initiative. With 250 € the schooling of the entire course is paid.

Cada verano un grupo de universitarios y profesionales realizamos proyectos de ayuda a poblaciones africanas pobres. Construimos escuelas, o rehabilitamos las que están en malas condiciones, y al mismo tiempo visitamos pacientes, un dentista cuida la salud dental y les facilitamos el tratamiento gratuito. Realizamos estos campos de trabajos en Costa de marfil, Camerún, Congo y Uganda. El último fue en Oluko, el coste de material, medicamentos y de mano de obra especializada supone miles de €.

ONAY colabora con el Hospital MONKOLE en Kinshasa (R. D. del Congo). Con este proyecto quiere: - Financiar 80 operaciones de traumatología y cirugía infantil. - Puesta en marcha de la unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos donde se atenderán con estos fondos a otros 100 niños para ser atendidos de casos graves de malaria, diarrea, drepanocitosis, tuberculosis, etc.

"I’m Amelie, 32 years old and mother of 5 children. We live in a modest home in Kinshasa, and I’m now expecting my 6th baby. I dream of having a boy, but I place everything in God’s hands. Thanks to the Amigos de Monkole Foundation, I’ve been able to safely welcome each of my children. We survive on what I sell in the streets and from growing vegetables; many days I feed my family with only €1 or €2". The Foundation wants to reach more women like me: in Kinshasa, even €1 can work miracles.
