Help us recover our beloved Mar Menor (SOSMARMENOR.ORG)

We are a non-profit association, Alianza Mar Menor AMARME. We support the Mar Menor becoming the first natural area in Europe with its own rights. So that's it, right? Well, no, now we have to patiently go to court to demand that the law be upheld, and to do that, we need to pay expenses that volunteers alone can't cover: transportation, technical reports, attorneys... Our asociation is a free open assembly and does not receive subsidies, we can't do it alone, but with your help, we can ;)

The Mar Menor and its basin

Although our initial project was to raise funds to create a botanical garden school, it has been relegated to the priority of resolving legal issues, which would be the basis for the entire recovery of the Mar Menor. If it isn't polluted, there's no need to invest in its restoration. The Mar Menor Alliance Association (Amarme) has filed a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) seeking protection against the decision of the Provincial Court of Murcia to prevent it from acting as a private prosecutor in the criminal proceedings opened by a Cartagena court against a company accused of discharging nitrate-contaminated water from a desalination plant. Amarme maintains that some Spanish judges are frustrating the Mar Menor's right to compensation as a victim of a crime. This lawsuit, like others in which our association is involved, entails expenses that cannot be covered by volunteering alone. We need a fund to turn to when necessary.
