Animal Charity Akira was formed in 2011, and opened a shelter in 2016. A monthly allowance is given by both Benissa and Teulada Moraira town councils towards the running costs of the shelter, but this is less than the cost of the veterinary bills for the dogs in their care, so AKIRA needs donations to help provide for the dogs. We are constantly fund raising but you could help by sparing just 1 euro per month to help provide a safe, friendly, caring environment for the dogs.

The group has been raised to pass funding to the Akira Charity registered in Benissa Spain. Created in 2011 to address the needs of abandoned dogs in the Benissa, Teulada/Moraira area. The fundraising supports the shelter, vet costs, food and care given to over 400 dogs that pass through the door every year.
