At the age of 19, Janira met Salah. Salah came from Syria and, at the age of 13, he was selling flowers on the Lebanese streets to survive. He couldn't go to public school so Janira created one for him. They called it 26 Letters. Our school now helps 450 families through education, medical assistance and the provision of basic products. Our families have survived a war, the explosion in Beirut and Covid-19. Now they face extreme poverty. Help them survive!
- 73% of the Lebanese population lives in poverty. 9 out of 10 Syrian refugees live in extreme poverty. What a beautiful moment! A brother teaching his own sister! When Onar and Zeina started studying with us, we could carry Zeina in our arms because she was so small! But, of course, that was 7 years ago! How time flies and how fast they grow!
