Águila calzada

The PENNATUS PROJECT was born in 2017 as a research project on the booted eagle in Castilla y León. Previously, the main researcher, Ignacio S. García Dios, had been studying the species since 1995, having published various works on the species. One of the main objectives we set was to study a population with a high density, very close to the city of Valladolid. Aspects such as intraspecific competition, competition with other species, predation, diet, analysis of the main reproductive parameters, diet, causes of mortality... To carry out this ambitious and innovative project, the use of phototrapping cameras, transmitters GPS/GSM, wing tags, etc. The pertinent administrative authorizations from the Department of the Environment are available. The team has professionals dedicated to climbing, terrain surveying, ringing and marking, etc., with extensive and proven experience.
