Comité scientifique Pro Anima

The Pro Anima Scientific Committee is a French NGO created in 1989 promoting and funding non-animal methods, also called NAMs, helping to accelerate and improve research, drug discovery and toxicology. Pioneer in France, Pro Anima has published since 1994 Sciences, Enjeux, Santé, the only French magazine dedicated to non-animal research, with interviews with key players and an overview of the advances in NAMs. In 2013, Pro Anima founded the EthicScience Prize, which became the Descroix-Vernier EthicScience Prize in 2023, rewarding some of the most innovative research teams every two years. Pro Anima also coordinates a network of experts in NAMs and a series of “Science and Dialogue” discussion panels. Encouraging dialogue between operators and civil society on health issues, Pro Anima works at the French and European level. Elections européennes avec “Vote for Animals”

Pro Anima soutient la campagne “Vote for Animals” initiée par l’Eurogroup for Animals et relayée par CAP, via la réactivation du groupe Engagement Animaux.
Il s’agit de proposer aux candidats français aux élections européennes de s’engager, dans le cadre d’un manifeste porté dans toute l’Union européenne sur une série de mesures pour améliorer les conditions de vie des animaux en Europe.
Ce manifeste inclut 33 mesures, représentant les grandes thématiques de la condition animale. Sont ainsi abordées avec l'expérimentation animale dans la science, les conditions d’élevage, de transport et d’abattage des animaux de rente, la politique alimentaire et agricole, les importations de produits d'origine animale, la protection des animaux de compagnie, l’interdiction des fermes à fourrure ou encore la préservation des animaux sauvages.
